Switch between contests (or pick one after login) so the sidebar, scoring tools, and details match the event you're actually working. Same account, different weekend - don't score Saturday's contestants thinking they're Sunday's by accident.
- Be logged in
- Know the contest title (and year/city if your titles are similar)
- Know which role you should be using for that contest
- After login, open My Contests if you're not already there.
- Scan the list for the contest you need.
- Check the active / inactive badge so you know what kind of work is possible.
- Click the open / view / manage action for that contest (wording depends on your role).
- Confirm the sidebar shows the correct contest name.
- Use the role links (Judging Sections, Contest Details, Results, and so on).

Some flows send you to a select contest screen when you belong to more than one event:
- When prompted to choose a contest, read each option carefully.
- Select the contest you need.
- Continue.
- Verify the sidebar contest name before you enter scores or change settings.

- Return to My Contests (sidebar or home link).
- Open a different contest.
- Pause for one breath and re-read the contest name in the sidebar.
- Proceed with judging, prep, or management for that event only.
SquirrelScore may take you straight into your only contest after login. You can still return to My Contests later if more events get added to your account.
- Similar titles are chaos gremlins - match the date or subtitle, not just the first word.
- Producers running last year's clone: don't forget to change the name; nostalgia is not part of the workflow.
- On mobile, open the sidebar after switching to confirm the contest name before you tap Scoring.
- Clicking the first familiar logo/title without reading the year
- Entering scores, then noticing the wrong contest name in the sidebar
- Assuming inactive contests are "broken" when you only needed to switch to the active one
I don't see the contest at all.
You're not enrolled yet, or you're on the wrong login. Ask your producer to add you with the right role.
I see the contest but the wrong tools.
You may have the wrong role (for example contestant instead of judge). Producers and admins fix enrollment - you can't Manage from a judge account.
Can I work two contests in two browser tabs?
Often yes, but it's super easy to type into the wrong tab. Prefer one contest at a time during live scoring.
