See who has finished scoring in a section so you know when it's safe to lock - and gently nudge judges who are still "almost done" to get the damn thing entered and saved so the contest can progress.
- Be logged in as tallymaster
- Contest should be the correct one (Selecting a contest)
- Know which section is on stage / next
- Have a way to reach judges (runner, radio, pointed look)
- Open the contest from My Contests.
- Open Judging Sections.
- Choose the section you care about right now.
- Watch contestant rows and judge completion indicators.
- Let the page's live updates refresh judge status (don't spam-reload like you're at a Vegas slot machine unless something looks stuck).
- Open a judge's scores in review mode to inspect entries, remembering you are read-only.
- If something looks wrong, contact the judge while the section is still unlocked - or unlock later only if needed (and after confirming with the producer).
- When everyone who should be done is done, proceed to Locking sections.

The section view will poll judge status so progress updates while you keep the page open. Think of it as a polite auto-refresh for "has Morgan finished contestant 4 yet?"
If numbers look frozen:
- Wait one poll cycle.
- Check the judge's device/network.
- Then refresh once on purpose.
- Monitor the section that's actually being performed.
- Inactive contests can still be reviewed, but scoring edits stay locked down.
- Read-only review is perfect for catching blank subsections before you lock.
- Locking from memory ("they said they were done") without checking the board
- Editing judge scores from a review screen that is meant to be read-only - send the judge back in, or use the proper correction workflow with unlock
- Watching the wrong contest's sections in a multi-event weekend
Why is one judge always behind?
Devices, nerves, or a missing contestant row. Open review, then talk to them - software can't peer-pressure (yet).
Can I enter scores for a judge?
Judge sections are theirs. You score tallymaster-scored sections and can review judge scores read-only. Coordinate exceptions with your producer.
Does monitoring work on my phone?
Yes, with Mobile usage tips - landscape helps.
