Use SquirrelScore comfortably on a phone or tablet - because venues get crowded, tables can be small, and somehow you're still expected to give feedback, scores, and hit Save (well, the judges are at least).
- Use a current mobile browser (Brave, Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and friends)
- Prefer Wi-Fi inside venues for uploads and live scoring
- Turn up brightness just enough to see fields without it being so bright the ISS (or just the nebby attendee that wants to read over your shoulder) can read your feedback
- Know how to open the sidebar toggle on your device
- Open the SquirrelScore site in your mobile browser.
- Log in (Logging in).
- Tap the menu / sidebar toggle to open navigation.
- Choose My Contests or the contest page you need.
- Close the sidebar (tap outside or press Escape on a keyboard case) so the main page is shown.
- Rotate to landscape when you're staring at wide tables or score grids.
- Fill fields, then tap Save- and wait for confirmation before you pocket the phone.
- When you're done on a shared device, open the sidebar and tap Logout.

- Open your contest > choose the section.
- Pick a contestant.
- Enter subsection scores carefully - pinch-zoom if the fields are hard to read.
- Add contestant feedback / producer notes if you have them.
- Save before you switch contestants or apps.
- If the section is locked, you can read but not edit - find the tallymaster.
- Landscape helps with wide tables; portrait is fine for simple forms.
- Disable aggressive low-power modes if uploads keep failing.
- Use Uploading photos on Wi-Fi when applications ask for headshots.
- Bookmark the login page link before the contest.
- A cheap tablet stand/keyboard case will make your life so much easier.
- Judging outdoors - check brightness, seek shade, or angle the screen if its hard to read
- Switching to another app mid-save and assuming it finished
- Forgetting Logout on a borrowed phone
- Typing scores with a cracked screen protector that invents extra 9s (or slices your thumbs like deli meat)
Is there a native app store app?
Not at the moment. You use the webapp in a browser. Add a Home Screen shortcut if your phone allows it for faster launching.
The sidebar won't close.
Tap outside it or press close/Escape. Rotate once if the layout is stuck, then try again.
Should producers run Manage on a phone?
You can, but a larger screen, mouse/touchpad, and keyboard makes life so much easier.
